QRkode vs ME-QR

QRkode vs ME-QR: an ad-free alternative for dynamic QR codes

ME-QR offers a broad free QR generator with many code types on an ad-supported free tier. QRkode takes a narrower, cleaner path: dynamic QR codes with real-time scan analytics, where a scan always goes straight to your content — no interstitial pages between the scan and your site, on any plan. Free to start, no credit card.

Why people choose QRkode

Your brand, not banner ads

When someone scans your code, the next thing they see should be your menu, your RSVP page, your product — not an advertising interstitial. QRkode never puts anything between the scan and your content, on any plan.

Analytics that answer the real question

Totals, unique visitors, and breakdowns by day, device, OS and country — in real time, on the free plan. You can tell whether the poster worked without upgrading first.

A focused product is a simpler product

QRkode does dynamic QR codes with analytics, and does them end to end: templates, design, scheduling, scan limits, password protection. Fewer checkboxes, less to configure, nothing to un-tick.

European by default, not as an add-on

QRkode runs on servers in Amsterdam and operates under the GDPR and the Norwegian Personal Data Act, with Datatilsynet as the supervisory authority. Scan analytics are first-party: no advertising trackers ride along on your codes, and we don't sell scan data on. Our privacy policy spells out exactly what each scan records and how long we keep it.

Frequently asked questions

Is QRkode a free alternative to ME-QR?

Yes. The free plan makes dynamic, editable QR codes with real-time scan analytics and no credit card — and scans always go directly to your content.

Does QRkode show ads when someone scans my code?

No, never — on any plan. The scan resolves straight to your destination or content. The only thing we add is the analytics record.

Can I edit a code after printing it?

Yes — that's the core of the product. The printed pattern never changes; where it points is up to you, forever.

What does QRkode's free plan include?

Dynamic QR codes, real-time scan analytics, design customisation and templates, with no credit card and no expiry. Paid plans add more codes, longer analytics history and advanced branding.

Where is my scan data stored?

On servers in Amsterdam, in the EU, under the GDPR and the Norwegian Personal Data Act. One exception worth naming: to turn a scan's IP address into an approximate country and city, we call an external geolocation service, so that IP is looked up outside the EU. The location we keep is approximate, and the full detail is in our privacy policy.

Can I use QRkode codes commercially?

Yes, on every plan including free — put them on menus, packaging, posters, invoices or products. The codes are yours; there's no licensing fee per scan and no attribution requirement.

Does QRkode work for non-English audiences?

The app interface is translated into 13 languages, including Norwegian, German, French, Spanish, Polish and Dutch, and picks the visitor's language automatically. What your QR code points to is your own content, in whatever language you like.
